HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
59th session
17 March – 25 April 2003

In light of these texts, the large-scale military aggression perpetrated against Iraq and its people by the United States of America and a few other countries constitutes not only a flagrant violation of the right of peoples to self-determination, but also a serious threat to international peace and security. Indeed, how can one wage a war of aggression on the grounds of preventive war or exporting democracy, when in reality the aim is to seize a country’s wealth? How can one, while this war is going on, fight over market shares on the grounds of reconstruction?
