80 % of the food consumed on a worldwide level is produced by 1.2 billion farmers (1/3 of the humanity). Nevertheless, the farmers and other rural workers are often vulnerable and discriminated. Victims of multiple violations of human rights, they suffer hunger and poverty.

The speakers present at the conference of March 15th, 2017 in the UN, explain why the recognition of the right for the food sovereignty is crucial for the preservation of the agriculture. It is the guaranty of a quality and sufficient production for the global population.
