The Guiding Principles rightly describe poverty as a ‘violation of human dignity’. In this context, we consider that it is very important to have a legal framework that gives priority to the eradication of poverty, whether ‘extreme’ or not. In this respect, the adoption of the Guiding Principles by the Council can be a valuable tool in the fight against poverty. However, the Guiding Principles give rise to a number of comments.
