Indeed, this embargo – unjustified and unjustifiable – aims to inflict maximum suffering on the Cuban people and undermines the social gains achieved by Cuba in the fields of education, health research and culture. Cuba’s performance in these areas is recognised by numerous UN agencies (WHO, UNESCO and UNICEF, among others).
