CETIM and its partners Red Wiphalas / Wiphalas Network Grève féministe – Genève accompanied Lourdes Huanca, funder and president of the National Federation of Peasant, Artisan, Indigenous, Native and Worker Women (Fenmucarinap PERÚ), during her visit to Switzerland.
The aim: to allow her to meet journalists, politicians, UN mechanisms and bodies so to draw the attention on the social and political crisis, on the struggle of the Peruvian people against the illegitimate take over of the radical right-wing takeover, against the bloody repression and the violations that are currently taking place in the country.
Following the meeting with several UN special procedure, a complaint was submitted to denounce the violations and seek acces to justice and reparation for the victims and its relatives.
Last but not least, in the Geneva public space, CETIM co-organised a conference entitled “Repression and human rights violations in Peru”. A public demonstration was also organized by CETIM and its partners in the Nations Square, in front of the UN.
