Human Rights Programme

CETIM helps organisations and social movements in the South to access the UN human rights protection mechanisms. It also helps them to participate in the elaboration of new international norms that concern them directly. CETIM also works to strengthen the defence capacities of its partner organisations in the South by:

• providing them with information and teaching materials
• organising training on recognised human rights and existing international protection mechanisms.

The CETIM’s Human Rights Programme enables it to perpetuate and strengthen its action in this field. It also allows the association to contribute directly to the influence of international Geneva and to the strengthening of the participation of civil society from the countries of the South within it.

CETIM focuses its action in the field of human rights on three interdependent and mutually reinforcing thematic axes:

Peasants rights

Transnational corporations

Economic social and cultural rights

Right to development
